MESA, AZ — Greg Stanton for Congress today announced that Ironworkers Local 75, representing the skilled tradespeople who have built Arizona’s skyline for more than a century, have endorsed Congressman Greg Stanton for re-election. Earlier this year, the Arizona AFL-CIO named Stanton its Elected Official of the Year.

“Ironworkers Local 75 is proud to stand with Greg Stanton because he’s always stood with Arizona’s working families,” said Jason L. Sangster, Business Manager and Financial Secretary-Treasurer of Ironworkers Local 75. “Greg understands that strong unions and a skilled workforce are the foundation of Arizona’s growth. He’s worked to bring home good-paying jobs, invest in infrastructure, and ensure workers have the training they need to build our state’s future.”

Since 1910, Ironworkers Local 75 has trained thousands of highly skilled men and women to safely construct many of Arizona’s most iconic structures from bridges and stadiums to manufacturing facilities and renewable energy projects.

“We’re honored to have Ironworkers Local 75 on our team,” said Cameron Adams, campaign spokesperson. “This endorsement reflects Greg’s deep partnership with the people who literally build our economy and his focus on tackling the nation’s affordability crisis. He remains committed to making sure every Arizonan can build a good life and that workers are paid fair wages and treated with dignity and respect.”

Stanton, a lifelong advocate for working families and former mayor of Phoenix, has helped secure major federal investments in infrastructure, manufacturing, and clean energy—efforts that continue to create thousands of union jobs across Arizona.

About Greg Stanton

Greg Stanton is a husband, father, and former two-term mayor of Phoenix who has represented Arizona’s East Valley in Congress since 2019. In Congress, he’s brought both Republicans and Democratic together to deliver real results for Arizona by lowering costs, strengthening the middle class, and building the foundation for a stronger, more sustainable future. Now he’s running to protect that progress as President Trump and MAGA extremists spread chaos, corruption, and economic damage that hurt Arizona families. In his role as Chair of the New Dem Action Fund, Stanton is helping to lead his party’s fight to win back Congress, defeat MAGA extremism, and restore responsible governing that grows the middle class and holds the president accountable. FOR BACKGROUND PURPOSES

Stanton Key Victories on Jobs, Labor, and Economic Growth:

  • Championed fair wages and collective bargaining rights – Stanton earned the Arizona AFL-CIO’s “Elected Official of the Year” award for his consistent advocacy for labor rights, safe working conditions, and fair pay. He has supported legislation protecting prevailing wages and retirement security for union workers.

  • Delivered record job growth through infrastructure investment – As the only Arizonan on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Stanton helped pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, securing billions for Arizona highways, bridges, airports, and transit systems. These investments are creating thousands of union jobs and strengthening local economies.

  • Advanced domestic manufacturing and clean energy jobs – Stanton helped pass the CHIPS and Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act, which together have spurred over $11.8 billion in new clean energy and semiconductor investments and more than 18,000 new Arizona jobs. He’s worked directly with Intel, TSMC, and Amkor to expand semiconductor production in Arizona.

  • Protected and expanded apprenticeship and workforce training – Stanton supports workforce development programs, including short-term Pell Grants and pre-apprenticeship training. He opposed the Trump administration’s decision to end the Job Corps program, which serves more than 650 Arizona students learning skilled trades like welding and electrical work.

  • Attracted new private investment and strengthened trade – Stanton’s leadership on nearshoring has positioned Arizona as a hub for advanced manufacturing. His bipartisan Semiconductor Supply Chain Security and Diversification Act encourages reshoring and hemispheric cooperation to reduce dependence on China and create stable, high-wage jobs in the Americas.

  • Strengthened Arizona’s economic competitiveness – From securing airport expansion funding at Sky Harbor and Mesa Gateway to creating the Arizona Environmental Infrastructure Authority, Stanton has consistently delivered federal resources that modernize infrastructure, attract employers, and grow the middle class.
