HEALTH CARE
Greg Stanton believes that every American should have access to quality, affordable health care. But right now, too many Arizona families are paying more because MAGA extremists refused to extend critical Affordable Care Act tax relief at the end of 2025, driving up premiums in 2026 through no fault of their own. Greg believes that is wrong.

Greg knows that quality, affordable health care starts with lowering costs, protecting coverage, and fighting back when MAGA and congressional Republicans block commonsense solutions.
Greg is fighting back back. He helped introduce bipartisan legislation to extend that critical tax relief for three years, then helped execute a discharge petition — joined by four Republicans — that forced Speaker Johnson to bring the bill to the floor for an up-or-down vote. Greg has been clear: MAGA obstruction is worsening the affordability crisis for Arizona families, and doing nothing is not an option.

At the same time, Greg is pushing to lower prescription drug prices by taking on Big Pharma, expanding Medicare's power to negotiate lower prices, capping insulin at $35 a month for seniors, and limiting annual out-of-pocket prescription drug costs.

Through persistent work in Congress, he has:
-
Helped introduce bipartisan legislation to extend critical ACA tax relief for three years, and executed a discharge petition — with four Republicans — to force a floor vote after Speaker Johnson refused to act.
-
Taken on Big Pharma by refusing to accept contributions from the industry and backing Medicare drug price negotiation.
-
Helped lower prescription drug costs by supporting caps on insulin for seniors and limits on annual out-of-pocket drug costs.
-
Defended the Affordable Care Act and protections for people with pre-existing conditions while opposing Republican efforts to weaken coverage.
-
Led the fight against Republican Medicaid cuts that would strip coverage from hundreds of thousands of Arizonans and put hospitals at risk.
-
Backed efforts to end surprise medical billing and crack down on abusive practices that leave families buried in debt.
-
Worked to expand access to care in underserved communities, including improving Native health care and supporting Arizona-specific priorities like Valley Fever research.
-
Protected access to reproductive and preventive care, including abortion, contraception, IVF, and early screening.

Before coming to Congress, Greg created an Access to Care program as Mayor of Phoenix that raised more than $300 million to help uninsured patients get treatment. He has brought that same approach to Washington: lower costs, expand access, and fight every effort to make health care more expensive or harder to get.

Impacts for Arizona

-
Due to MAGA Republican obstruction in Congress, which Greg Stanton is fighting every day, 33,000 residents of Arizona's Fourth District are estimated to face rising costs:*
-
ACA tax credits had been saving enrollees an average of $1,500 a year in premiums — until Republicans allowed them to expire.
-
An average family of four could see annual premiums increase by more than $9,000.
-
A 60-year-old couple could see annual premiums increase by $18,442.
-
-
7,300 seniors in Greg's district are projected to benefit from the $35 monthly insulin cap he helped pass into law.
-
6,000 seniors in Greg's district are projected to benefit from the $2,000 annual prescription drug cost cap he helped pass into law.
