EQUALITY

As mayor, he championed a non-discrimination ordinance and earned Phoenix a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index—the first Arizona city to accomplish the feat.  Phoenix would go on to earn a perfect score every year after during his time in office.

Since his election to Congress, Greg has:

• Voted for the Equality Act, which would ban discrimination against individuals on the basis of sexual orientation when it comes to employment, education, access to credit, jury service, federal funding, housing and public accommodations. 

• Voted for the Respect for Marriage Act, which would codify into federal statute the right of every American to marry who they love.
